Bob Weis Officially Announces Retirement From Walt Disney Imagineering

After 42 long and successful years at Walt Disney Imagineering, Bob Weis has officially announced his retirement. Walt Disney Imagineering shared a post on Instagram with a statement from Weis.

“I am proud to have been an Imagineer, a collaborator, and someone who loves to do impossible things with impossibly talented people.”

Weiss will officially part ways with the company on January 2, 2023. Barbara Bouza was named the new President of Walt Disney Imagineering last year.

Weis joined Walt Disney Imagineering in 1980, he had major creative roles with Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Tokyo DisneySea. After leaving Disney in 1994 to found his own design business, he returned to WDI as executive vice president in 2007 to oversee the development of Cars Land and other new attractions at Disney California Adventure. In 2016, he was named president of Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI), where he was responsible for all creative and design aspects of the Shanghai Disney Resort project.
