Marvel SNAPS Competition Away With New Mobile Game

Oh Snap!

The release of Marvel’s Midnight Suns game might be right around the corner, but there’s a brand new superhero game that seems to have everyone’s attention right now: Marvel Snap.

According to MobileGamer.biz, the freemium mobile game has already generated a whopping $2 million – and it’s only been out for one week! $1.3 million came from Apple’s iOS devices, while the rest came from miscellaneous Android devices.

The site states that compared to other major mobile launches this year, such as Apex Legends Mobile and Diablo Mortal, the game seems to be off to a “solid start.”

The site also claims that, since the game became available to play on October 17th, it’s been downloaded 5.3 million times! One fifth of those downloads came from North America alone.

While some might attribute its massive success to its major presence at this year’s New York Comic-Con, others might say it was this simple yet effective add featuring Nick Fury himself:

We think it might just be the fact that it’s so easy and fun to play!

For those unfamiliar with the game, it has a somewhat simple premise: players must build decks featuring 12 different cards and battle against other on a field with three separate lanes and constantly changing win conditions.

Each card features a different hero or villain such as Hulk, Apocalypse, and even America Chavez, with varying costs, power-up points, and abilities. That’s not all. Each match only lasts 6 rounds, which equates to approximately 3 minutes. Whoever dominates the most lanes in that timespan wins.

If it sounds a bit complicated, we encourage you to check it out for yourself. We also may or may not have a more comprehensive review of the game coming soon, so stay tuned!
