Ever since his first appearance as Nick Fury in Iron Man over a decade ago, Samuel L. Jackson has become the most recurring character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. With appearances in exactly 10 films in the franchise so far, it seems as if both Jackson and Fury are still just getting started.
Currently, Jackson is filming the upcoming limited series Secret Invasion. After that comes out, he’ll make an appearance in the Captain Marvel sequel The Marvels. That’s not all though.

During a recent appearance on Josh Horowitz’s popular podcast Happy Sad Confused, the legendary actor alluded to his (now iconic iteration of) Nick Fury appearing in one other upcoming Marvel project: Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
More specifically, Jackson said that filming for the upcoming Ant-Man sequel took place at the same lot where both Secret Invasion and The Marvels are also in production.
Granted, he didn’t say that he’s definitely appearing in the film, but his exact quote leaves little to the imagination. He said:
“It used to take a while to make a movie. It still kind of does, but people make about two or three of them at the same time. In the Marvel universe, it’s crazy. When I was in London just now, Ant-Man and Captain Marvel 2 [were] happening and we were getting ready to do Secret Invasion. So it was like three Marvel movies on one lot. I was kinda running around from place to place.”
Coincidentally, this isn’t the first time an actor casually teased their involvement with the next Ant-Man film. Bill Murray did the same thing a few months ago! Of course, whether or not Jackson does ultimately appears in the film remains to be seen. It’ll especially be interesting to see where/how he fits in with all of quantum chaos the film’s title promises.
Peyton Reed returns to the director’s chair once more for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, with a script written by Jeff Loveness. The film will see the return of previous franchise cast members Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Douglas, and Michelle Pfeiffer.
Despite previously appearing as Kang the Conquerer in the first season of Loki, Jonathan Majors will also return; however, he’ll play a variant of the villain. Aside from newcomer Murray, Kathryn Newton will also appear for the first time after being recase in the role of Cassie Lang.
The film will blast of into theaters worldwide on July 28, 2023.
