‘Heartstopper’ Star Joe Locke Joins Marvel Studios ‘Agatha: Coven of Chaos’

Hot off his breakout performance in Heartstopper, Joe Locke has signed on to star in the WandaVision spin-off series Agatha: Coven of Chaos, Variety has learned.

Locke joins a cast that includes Kathryn Hahn, who reprises her role as the villainous Agatha Harkness, and Emma Caulfield, who is reprising her role as Dottie from WandaVision. Marvel Studios is keeping both plot details and who Joe Locke is playing under wraps. Marvel Studios typically declines to comment on projects they have in development.

WandaVision creator and exec producer Jac Schaeffer is showrunning Coven of Chaos. Also, returning from WandaVision is the writing team of Megan McDonnell, Peter Cameron, Laura Donney, and Cameron Squires.

The series, which is said to be a comedy, is eyeing a premiere in the second half of 2023 or the first half of 2024. Production on the series is expected to begin in Georgia, likely at Trilth Studios, on December 5, under Oakhaven Productions LLC.
