The Agatha: Coven of Chaos news just keeps coming! According to Deadline, Ali Ahn (Raising Dion) and Maria Dizzia (The Staircase) have joined the WandaVision spin-off series.
Ahn and Dizzia’s involvement comes just days after the news Heartstopper star Joe Locke and White Lotus star Aubrey Plaza joined the project. Locke’s role is being kept under wraps but there are whispers he could be Billy Maximoff aka Wiccan. Plaza’s role is also being under wraps but she is set to play the villain opposite star Kathryn Hahn, who is back as Agatha Harkness. In addition, Emma Caulfield is also back from WandaVision as Dottie.
Details about Ahn and Dizzia’s characters are being kept under wraps.
WandaVision writer, producer, and showrunner Jac Schaeffer serves as writer and executive producer on the spinoff. Schaeffer has an overall deal with Marvel Studios and is also developing a Vision spin-off Vision Quest.
Agatha: Coven of Chaos is looking to shoot briefly for a week or two next month before production formally begins in January through the early summer of 2023 in Atlanta likely at Trilth Studios. The series, which is said to be a comedy, is eyeing a premiere in the second half of 2023 or the first half of 2024.
