After a few weeks of speculation, it appears that a brand new Star Wars short is set to drop on Disney+ this weekend. The official announcement was made via the official Disney+ Twitter account a few minutes ago.
That’s not all. The Star Wars short will reportedly be a product of both Lucasfilm and popular animation studio Studio Ghibli.
Titled “Zen – Grogy and Dust Bunnies,” the film will combined everyone’s favorite padawan from The Mandalorian and the anthropomorphized coal dust bunnies from Hayao Miyazaki’s Oscar-winning masterpiece Spirited Away.
Yesterday, Studio Ghibli sent fans into a frenzy by posting a video teasing an upcoming collaboration with Lucasfilm.
It wasn’t until today, when the studio posted an ominous photo of Miyazaki with a Baby Yoda figurine that it became clear what the project would be.
The short will be available to stream exclusively on Disney+ beginning tomorrow.
