October 24, 2023Skyler Shuler

Little Fires Everywhere and Tiny Beautiful Things creator Liz Tigelaar is continuing her work with Hulu. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Tigelaar and the Disney-owned streamer are adapting Lucy Foley’s best-selling novel The Guest List as a limited series.

The story takes place at the wedding of Jules Keegan and Will Slater, which is being held on an island off the coast of Ireland. The plot has been compared to the works of Agatha Christie, as a murder occurs with limited suspects and each guest has a secret which will be revealed. Per the trade, the series will closely follow the plot of the book.

Should it move forward, Tigelaar will create, write, and run the eight-to-10-episode series. Her Best Day Ever Productions producing partner Stacey Silverman will serve as an executive producer on the ABC Signature project alongside Foley.

Published in 2020, The Guest List became a New York Times, Sunday Times, and Washington Post bestseller, selling over a million copies in 30 territories. The novel was named one of the best thrillers of 2020 by The New York Times, was longlisted for the CWA Gold Dagger Award, and won the 2020 Goodreads Choice Award for Mystery and Thrillers.

As for Tigelaar, she has worked on multiple hit series including Brothers & Sisters, American Dreams, Once and Again, Once Upon a Time, Revenge, Bates Motel, Casual, and is well known for creating and executive producing The CW series Life Unexpected. She is also developing the crime drama Under The Bridge for Hulu.
