Well, what we all might knew would happen with Avengers: The Kang Dynasty is coming true.
In the wake of all the Jonathan Majors drama, Marvel Studios is beginning to pivot from his character. Earlier this year, the studio dropped the actor from all future appearances in the MCU, which would’ve been highlighted in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Marvel is currently retooling the script to either minimize or completely rewrite the character out of their ongoing universe.
Additionally, Avengers: The Kang Dynasty will be getting a new title to remove the character’s name. Per the trade, the studio was already developing ways to phase out the character following Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania‘s disappointing reception and box office results last year.
Michael Waldron (Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness) is on board to write the project. The Kang Dynasty lost director Destin Daniel Cretton in November so he could focus his work on Wonder Man, which is currently filming, and the untitled Shang–Chi sequel.
