In 2007, Queen Rock Montreal was released in IMAX as an exclusively threatrical experience. Beginning next month, however, Disney+ subscribers will be able to stream the film for the first time ever. Conveniently, they will also be able to view it in IMAX.
Thanks to modern technological advancements, Queen Rock Montreal will be the first concert film available with IMAX Enhanced sound powered by DTS.
It won’t be the only film debuting on the streamer in IMAX though. It will be joined by 18 fan-favorite Marvel films including Avengers: Endgame, Black Panther, and Thor: Love and Thunder. Previously, some blockbusters were available to stream “IMAX enhanced.”
To be clear, his is the first time viewers will be able to enjoy the films with the DTS enhancement as well.

Subscribers on IMAX Enhanced certified devices will be able to feel the full dynamic range of every heart-pounding moment of the digitally remastered concert film, which captures the world’s most iconic rock band at the very peak of their live powers. “Queen Rock Montreal” presents Freddie Mercury, Brian May, Roger Taylor and John Deacon at their most exciting and exhilarating. The original concerts, which took place on November 24 and 25, 1981, were arranged specifically to be filmed for a full-length concert film to document their live show. The film was restored for IMAX by Mercury Studios. Executive producers include Geoff Kempin and Alice Webb for Mercury Studios and Jim Beach and Matilda Beach for Queen Films.
The film and all the other upgraded versions of Marvel’s films debut on Disney+ on May 15th.
