Warning: the following article contains spoilers for episode fourteen of Star Wars: The Bad Batch – Season 3.

This is it. We have one more episode to go with Star Wars: The Bad Batch – Season 3, and barring one lousy filler episode, the current season has been quite good. It’s almost miraculous to see a show with two flimsy seasons pick itself back up like that, but it’s also a testament to how this season had a story to tell and something to say instead of tiptoeing around in circles with its “adventure of the week” format, which rarely advanced character development and stuck Clone Force 99 in a slew of uneventful situations.

But season 3 has kept its characters moving from one place to the next, and the Batch has finally made it to Tantiss in its penultimate episode, titled Flash Strike. However, Dr. Royce Hemlock (Jimmi Simpson) quickly finds out that the clones infiltrated the relay station and orders the ship they are in to be shot down. Vessels attempt to intercept the ship, but the Batch safely crash-lands onto Tantiss, looking for Omega (Michelle Ang) as the base is on high alert.

Hunter (Dee Bradley Baker), Wrecker (Dee Bradley Baker), and Rampart (Noshir Dalal) continue their path to Hemlock’s base on foot but are being hunted down by stormtroopers. Meanwhile, Echo (Dee Bradley Baker) safely infiltrates the base while posing as a Stormtrooper and attempts to retrieve data that will tell him where Echo is held. However, he is met by Emerie Karr (Keisha Castle-Hughes), who has now accepted her change of heart as a Clone to save not only Omega but also the other children who are being held by Hemlock for M-Count testing.

Karr tells Echo that Omega isn’t the only child held in the facility, which raises suspicions out of the clone, but that’s something that will likely be resolved next week, as the episode immediately cuts to Omega plotting her escape. As the base becomes alerted of Clone Force 99’s presence, Omega takes this opportunity to escape from her cell and see exit paths. During that time, she spots a Zillo Beast being held in captivity, giving her the opportunity to plan a smooth escape should the other children agree to follow Omega’s lead.

And that’s how the episode ends, with Omega telling the other children that she has a plan to aid in their escape, and knowing that Clone Force 99 has come to rescue her, it can be set in motion. Time will tell exactly what happens next, but this setup has been way more enticing than the previous penultimate season episodes of Star Wars: The Bad Batch because the end of Clone Force 99 is truly near. What will happen next week as the series comes to a close? Well, there’s only one way to find out.

The fourteenth episode of Star Wars: The Bad Batch – Season 3 is now available to stream on Disney+.
