Giancarlo Esposito to Appear in ‘Captain America: Brave New World’

Fans were excited when Giancarlo Esposito recently revealed he joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Today, we have found out what that project is.

According to Murphy’s Multiverse, Giancarlo Esposito is set to star as an antagonistic agent of chaos in Captain America: Brave New World. Characters details are being kept under wraps at this time. Esposito joins a stacked cast that also includes Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson / Captain America alongside Danny Ramirez, Carl Lumbly, Tim Blake Nelson, Shira Haas, Harrison Ford, and Liv Tyler.

While plot details are being kept under wraps, the studio showed off some of the film at CinemaCon back in April, which included Harrison Ford’s Thunderbolt Ross asking Wilson for his help in rebuilding the Avengers. Additionally, a scene featured Ross delivering a speech to a crowd of uniformed officials. Soon after, something happens to some of the people in the crowd. They seem possessed. Among the crowd is Carl Lumbly’s Isaiah Bradley. He joins forces with Ford to fight them off.

The film is directed by Julius Onah, who co-wrote the script with Malcolm Spellman and Dalan Musson. Captain America: Brave New World will hit theaters on February 14, 2025.

Of course, Giancarlo Esposito is no stranger to The Walt Disney Company. he played Magic Mirror/Sidney Glass in ABC’s Once Upon a Time, voiced Akela in the 2016 live-action film adaptation of The Jungle Book, and the Phantom Blot in the 2017 DuckTales reboot. He also portrayed Moff Gideon in The Mandalorian, Charlie Dunt in Nothing to Lose, and Archie in Stargirl. Additionally, he voices Granite in Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur.
