Grace Van Patten Replaces Margaret Qualley in Amanda Knox Hulu Series

Hulu has tapped Grace Van Patten to play Amanda Knox in their upcoming drama series.

Patten takes over the role from Margaret Qualley, who was set to star and executive produce after she departed the project due to scheduling conflicts. It is unknown if Qualley will remain on the project as a producer. The show will be Van Patten’s third series with Hulu, following her role in the first season of Nine Perfect Strangers and Tell Me Lies.

The 8-episode series is based on the true story of Knox’s wrongful conviction for killing her roommate Meredith Kercher when they were studying in Italy, and Knox’s “16-year odyssey to set herself truly free,” as Hulu describes it.

KJ Steinberg (This Is Us), will serve as a showrunner and executive producer. Warren Littlefield, Lisa Harrison, Ann Johnson, & Graham Littlefield of The Littlefield Company will also serve as executive producers; as well as Monica Lewinsky, Knox, and Chris Robinson of Knox Robinson Productions.
