Today, Disney has officially confirmed that the long-awaited sequel to Freaky Friday has begun production. Additionally, it is confirmed that film is being developed for the big screen for a 2025 release.
Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan are returning. Additionally, Mark Harmon and Chad Michael Murray are also returning from the 2000’s Original. Newcomers to the cast include Julia Butters and Manny Jacinto, who can currently be seen on the Disney+ Star Wars series The Acolyte.
Nisha Ganatra (Late Night) is directing from a screenplay written by Jordan Weiss and filming is taking place now in Los Angeles. Andrew Gunn, who produced the 2003 movie, was confirmed to produce again along with Kristin Burr.
