July is going to be a massive month for Marvel Studios. We have the release of Deadpool & Wolverine and the studio makes their triumphant return to Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con. Well, Kevin Feige has shared some exciting news to add to the July madness.
During an interview on The Official Marvel Podcast, Feige shared some details on The Fantastic Four. “It is a period film, and there was another piece of art we released with Johnny Storm flying in the air making a 4 symbol. There was a cityscape in that image. There were a lot of smart people who noticed that that cityscape didn’t look exactly like the New York that we know or the New York that existed in the 60s in our world. Those are smart observations, I’ll say…”
Feige also revealed that The Fantastic Four is about to start filming and it will start on the Monday after Comic-Con, which would be July 29. “Our director, Matt Shakman has already moved to London, and we start filming at the end of July. Funny story, we start shooting the Monday after Comic-Con. We start filming the day after on Fantastic Four.”
The film is set to star Pedro Pascal as Mr. Fantastic (Reed Richards), Vanessa Kirby as the Invisible Woman (Sue Storm), Joseph Quinn as the Human Torch (Johnny Storm), and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as the Thing (Ben Grimm). Also on board is Julia Garner as Silver Surfer, Ralph Ineson as Galactus, with Paul Walter-Hauser, John Malkovich, and Natasha Lyonne in unknown roles.
