After over 20 years, Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan are returning to reprise their roles as Tess and Anna Coleman from 2003’s Freaky Friday for a sequel.
The sequel, currently in production, promises to bring back many familiar faces from the original film, including Mark Harmon, Chad Michael Murray, Christina Vidal Mitchell, Haley Hudson, Lucille Soong, Stephen Tobolowsky, and Rosalind Chao. Now, some new set photos have surfaced.
Directed by Nisha Ganatra, known for her work on Late Night and The High Note, the sequel will introduce new characters played by Julia Butters, Manny Jacinto, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, and Sophia Hammons. Although specific plot details are being kept under wraps, it’s known that the story will involve Tess and Anna switching bodies with two teenage girls, adding a new twist to the body-swapping hijinks.
Production has already begun, with a release expected in 2025. This much-anticipated sequel aims to capture the charm and humor of the original while introducing new dynamics and characters to the mix.
