During Disney’s Entertainment Showcase Friday evening, fans got some promising updates about the upcoming Tron sequel. The most surprising takeaway was Nine Inch Nails’ contributing the score to the film.
But fans in attendance were treated to something extra special: the opportunity to see the film’s first trailer.
And while the trailer won’t officially debut online for the foreseeable future, someone recorded it in its entirety and posted it on Twitter.

The film will focus on the emergence of Ares, a sentient program that crosses over into the human world that is not ready for contact. Jared Leto will play the human manifestation of that program.
Tron: Ares will be directed by Joachim Rønning (Young Woman and the Sea), with a screenplay by Jesse Wigutow and Jack Thorne. The film stars Jared Leto, Greta Lee, Evan Peters, Hasan Minhaj, Jodie Turner-Smith, Arturo Castro, Cameron Monaghan, Gillian Anderson, and Sarah Desjardins.
Tron: Ares is scheduled to be released theatrically on October 10, 2025.
