Disney Parks Voice Actor Peter Renaday Passes Away

Peter Renaday, a longtime voice actor for Disney has sadly passed away at the age of 89.

Renaday is best known for his voice work in Disney Parks, particularly as the voices of Henry and Max in the Country Bear Jamboree. Throughout his career, he also contributed to various attractions, such as voicing Captain Nemo in Walt Disney World’s 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Abraham Lincoln in The Hall of Presidents (from 1994 to 2008), and the narrator for both the Disneyland version of The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh and The Walt Disney Story. His voice could also be heard in the Tomorrowland Transit Authority, Adventure Thru Inner Space, and on the Mark Twain Riverboat.

In Disney films, Renaday lent his voice to characters like the Milkman and Le Petit Café Chef in The Aristocats (both uncredited) and the American delegate in The Rescuers. He also played Eddie Valiant in early screen tests for Who Framed Roger Rabbit.

Additionally, Renaday gained recognition for voicing the Ghost Host on Disneyland Records albums and was once considered for that same role in The Haunted Mansion attraction before it was given to Paul Frees. In the late 1970s and 1980s, he voiced Mickey Mouse on several albums, including Mickey Mouse Splashdance and Yankee Doodle Mickey.

Renaday was married to Florence “Flo” Daniel — who worked as Walt Disney Studio’s music department secretary for 35 years — from 1979 until her death in 2011.
