The Walt Disney World Resort will reopen its theme parks, Disney Springs, and potentially other areas on its property on Friday, October 11th.

The Walt Disney World Resort officially closed its theme parks and Disney Springs on Thursday, October 101th, due to the historic Hurricane Milton.
Now, with the main surge of the storm over in Central Florida, the Walt Disney World Resort released the following statement:
“We’re grateful Walt Disney World Resort weathered the storm, and we are currently assessing the impacts to our property to prepare for reopening the theme parks, Disney Springs and possibly other areas on Friday, October 11.“

Leaving a devastating path, Hurricane Milton made landfall Wednesday evening as a category 3 storm. Later downgrading to category 2, Hurricane Milton’s direct path included the Orlando area.
The Orlando area experienced heavy rainfall, wind, and flooding early Thursday morning. As a result, the Walt Disney World Resort and Universal Orlando Resort announced their theme parks, shopping districts, and related properties (other than their hotels) would close early Wednesday, October 9th, and remain closed until Friday, October 11th.
