Disney’s long-in-development Prince Charming movie is moving full steam ahead. Now, a rising star is possibly joining the project.
According to The InSneider, Daisy Edgar-Jones, who is hot off her role in the action hit Twisters, is being eyed to star in the lead female role opposite Chris Hemsworth, who is playing the titular role. It is unknown who Edgar-Jones is playing but sources have told us that it will not be the role of Cinderella but a possible new princess altogether.
Specific plot points remain undisclosed, but the film is expected to explore a fresh take on this iconic fairytale character. The character, famous for his connections to Disney princesses, is traditionally Cinderella’s love interest, though he is often mistakenly associated with Sleeping Beauty and Snow White.
Paul King (Paddington, Wonka) is set to direct.
The film is expected to begin filming in 2025 for a 2026 release, which we hear will be for the big screen and not a Disney+ exclusive.
