A new release date for Sony’s Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse has still yet to be set, but that isn’t stopping the studio from making other announcements about the project.
According to Deadline, the film’s two directors have been revealed. Unsurprisingly, they are two names that are no strangers to the film series. The outlet reports that Bob Persichetti and Justin K. Thompson have been working on the film for quite some time already. They just haven’t been officially revealed as co-directors by the studio until now.
Persichetti was notably a part of the first film’s directing team, while Thompson was a part of the second film’s team.
“We have had the immense privilege of being part of Miles’ journey from the very beginning, and directing the conclusion to his story is beyond exciting,” said Persichetti and Thompson in a statement to Deadline. “The creativity and care poured into every minute of this project has been truly inspiring. We have crafted what we feel is a very satisfying ending, and we can’t wait for fans to experience it – we’re bringing everything we’ve got!”
While plot details are being kept under wraps about the final installment of the franchise, it will undoubtedly pick where the last one left off. We can expect Spider-Gwen to lead her team of Spider-Men variants across the Spider-Verse to find and save Miles Morales from the evil version of himself.
