Disney is set to hold a Hollywood premiere for Snow White on March 15, but the event will be more low-key than usual, lacking the typical elaborate red carpet.
The afternoon’s schedule includes a pre-party and a screening at the El Capitan Theatre, where lead actress Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot, who portrays the Evil Queen, are expected to be present. However, unlike Disney’s usual premieres, the red carpet will not feature numerous media outlets conducting interviews with the cast and creative team.
Instead, coverage will be limited to photographers and an in-house crew. While the studio did not provide a comment, the decision to scale back the event comes amid ongoing controversies related to the Marc Webb-directed film, which is set to release in theaters on March 21.
Reasons could be due to Rachel Zegler’s past comments regarding the original animated classic, Gal Gadot’s stance with Isreal, and Peter Dinklage’s comments regarding the animated dwarfs and not casting real actors.
