Disney Branded Television and 20th Television announced that the Disney+ Percy Jackson and the Olympians series will be getting a season 3.
Season 2 is set to premiere this December having recently wrapped up production back in January.
The upcoming season will be based on the second book of the series, “The Sea of Monsters” while the first season was based on the first novel, “The Lighting Thief” that premiered two years ago.
The first season was a massive hit for the streaming service, with being the top 5 most-watched shows since it launched December 2023 according to Nielsen Ratings and trending on social media with 1 billion views on TikTok using the hashtag Percy Jackson.
Percy Jackson and the Olympians is nominated for 16 Children’s and Family Emmy Awards which will be taking place tomorrow in Los Angeles.
It’s clear that season 3 will be based on the third book, “The Titan’s Curse and is currently in early stages.
