The “Mistress of All Evil’s” third film is moving forward.
Deadline has reported that screenwriter Linda Woolverton is writing the third installment of Maleficent. They also add she’ll be working on a Winnie the Pooh series as an executive producer.
Woolverton is known screenwriting Disney feature films including Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, Alice in Wonderland, and the first two Maleficent films.
Oscar winner Angelina Jolie will is expected to return as the iconic Disney villain as she confirmed way back in December 2023.
No confirmation yet if Elle Fanning will return as Disney Princess Aurora.
The last time we’ve seen Jolie’s take on Maleficent was back in 2019 with her sequel film Maleficent: Mistress of Evil directed by Joachim Rønning and co-written by Woolverton, Noah Harpster, and Micah Fitzerman-Blue.
Maleficent 3 has been in development for years but no director has been attached yet. We expect that to change soon.
