The First Reactions To Disney’s Live-Action ‘Lilo & Stitch’ Are Here!

The social media embargo for Disney’s live-action Lilo & Stitch remake has just been lifted.

That means that thoughts and opinions on the film from critics and other entertainment journalists are just starting to pour in.

Check out what some of our peers are already saying about the highly-anticipated film below!

The film, like the animated classic, tells the story of “the bond formed between a lonely human girl named Lilo and a dog-like alien named Stitch, who is engineered to be a force of destruction. Pursuing aliens, social workers and the idea of the bond of family figure into the proceedings.”

Directed by Dean Fleischer Camp, the film stars Maia Kealoha as Lilo Pelekai, with original Lilo & Stitch writer-director Chris Sanders reprising his voice role as Stitch. It also stars Sydney Agudong, Zach Galifianakis, Billy Magnussen, Hannah Waddingham, and Courtney B. Vance, with original cast members Tia Carrere, Amy Hill, and Jason Scott Lee also appearing.

Lilo & Stitch is scheduled to be released in the United States by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures on May 23, 2025.
