It’s a perfect time to be a Percy Jackson fan.
Just as the third season begins filming in Vancouver, more casting announcements have emerged from the heavens.
The Hollywood Reporter has just announced that Dafne Keen (Deadpool & Wolverine, Star Wars: The Acolyte, His Dark Material) and Saara Chaudry (The Mysterious Benedict Society, The Breadwinner) will joining the cast of Percy Jackson and the Olympians.
It will be recurring roles for the two actors and the trade has confirmed who they’ll be playing the Emmy winning series.
Keen will be playing Artemis, the Greek goddess of the moon and the hunt while Chaudry will play Zoë Nightshade, an immortal hunter and Artemis’ lieutenant.
This latest castings adds to the more recent additions, Levi Chrisopulos and Olive Abercrombie, who will be playing fan-favorites siblings from the book series, Nico and Bianca di Angelo.
Keen’s Artemis’ character description is someone who “prefers the freedom of outdoors to the politics and formality of Olympus and her immortal hunters are her constant companions, and she little contact with mortals, making her a bit out of touch with human culture. She is regal and an honorable fighter who will stand up to grave challenges”.
Chaudry’s Zoë Nightshade is the “loyal lieutenant to Artemis and first among the immortal hunters,” as described in her character description. “She has at Artemis’ side for more than 2,000 years. She is a strong warrior and sometimes overly serious in ways that amuse the demigods, but she is also crucial quest member, willing to strive and sacrifice for the good of all”.
Percy Jackson season will be based on The Titan’s Curse, the third novel of the Percy Jackson series written by Rick Riordan.
Walker Scobell who plays the title character is set to return along with Leah Sava Jefferies (Annabeth Chase), Aryan Simhadri (Grover Underwood), Charlie Bushnell (Luke Castellan), Dior Goodjohn (Clarisse La Rue) and Daniel Diemer (Tyson).
Season 2 of Percy Jackson and the Olympians that will be based on book 2, The Sea of Monsters is set to premiere on Disney+, December 10.
