Disneyland Resort has officially reached a milestone that few entertainment destinations in the world could ever dream of achieving.
More than seven decades after Walt Disney first welcomed guests through the gates of Disneyland, the resort has now welcomed its one billionth guest.
The historic moment was celebrated at the entrance of Disneyland Park, where eight-year-old Andres Robles of Arizona and his family were surprised with the honor of representing the resort’s one billionth guest.
Andres arrived at Disneyland with his parents, Alejandra and Jose Robles, expecting to celebrate his eighth birthday at The Happiest Place on Earth. Instead, the family suddenly found themselves becoming part of Disneyland history.
The Robles family joined the Disney Ambassadors of Disneyland Resort for a special ceremony on the Main Street, U.S.A. train station platform. During the celebration, the family helped unveil an updated Disneyland population sign displaying an incredible new number: 1,000,000,000.
Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse joined the celebration, with Donald Duck and Daisy Duck also appearing for a special photo opportunity with the family.
The surprises didn’t stop there.
Disneyland Resort treated the Robles family to a VIP tour experience that included a visit to Walt Disney’s private apartment above the Main Street Fire Station, the newly opened Soarin’ Across America attraction, and other special experiences throughout the resort.

The milestone comes just days before Disneyland celebrates its 71st anniversary.
Since opening on July 17, 1955, Disneyland has grown from Walt Disney’s revolutionary idea for a place where parents and children could have fun together into one of the most recognizable entertainment destinations on the planet.
What began with a single theme park has expanded into Disneyland Resort, now home to Disneyland Park, Disney California Adventure Park, three Disney hotels, and the Downtown Disney District.
Even after one billion visits, the heart of Disneyland remains connected to the vision Walt Disney shared more than 70 years ago: a place built on imagination, storytelling, innovation, and the simple idea that families should have somewhere they can have fun together.
One billion guests is more than just a number. It represents generations of first visits, family vacations, birthdays, proposals, reunions, traditions, and memories created inside the gates of Disneyland Resort.
And now, as Disneyland moves toward its next billion guests, one thing remains certain.
The Happiest Place on Earth is still making history.
