I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to see ” Star Wars: Visions Presents- The Ninth Jedi ” before release and man it was amazing! Based on 2 previous ” Visions ” short films from Season 1 and Season 3, it was given an 8 episode limited series treatment. Hands down one of my top 2 shorts from the original season, The Ninth Jedi always felt like there was a lot more story to tell.

Following the continued adventures of Kara, Margrave Juro, and the rest of the crew they set out in search of a new threat in the galaxy. Without giving away any spoilers, because I wouldn’t want to deprive anybody of the ride they’re going on with this show, it is full of incredible story telling, action, and animation from the legendary anime company Production I.G.

I loved the way they tied in known Jedi lore while bringing in some new ideas as well. And being a fan of many fandoms, not only did it have a great Star Wars feel to it but also felt some Lord of the Rings and some other fantasy stories too. I really hope for more seasons of The Ninth Jedi. With the success of recent Disney+ Star Wars shows like Andor and Maul: Shadow Lord, The Ninth Jedi joins them as what myself and other fans like to call – ” Peak Star Wars “!

Show Details: An 8-episode animated limited series from Lucasfilm, “Star Wars: Visions Presents – The Ninth Jedi,” will premiere August 5, 2026, exclusively on Disney+ and Hulu.
Part of an all-new “Star Wars: Visions Presents” banner, which will be used to tell longer-form “Star Wars: Visions” stories, the limited series picks up not long after the events of the “Visions” shorts: “The Ninth Jedi” and “The Ninth Jedi: Child of Hope.” In the new series, Lah Kara continues to train in the ways of the Jedi under Margrave Juro. Kara goes on an epic journey of self-discovery as she and Juro’s small fellowship of Jedis-in-training embark on a quest to save her father and stop a mysterious Sith leader from unleashing darkness upon the galaxy.
