I had the privilege of being able to attend the Entertainment Showcase, where all the big studios announce their upcoming projects. The energy in that room was palpable. Everyone was brimming with excitement about what Disney had in store for us. The lights dimmed, and the show started with the entire cast of dance pros from Dancing with the Stars, and then some opened with a wonderful dance number set to “Zoo” from Zootopia 2. Then the announcements started rolling in. I’m not going to go through all the announcements, but I will give you what I am most looking forward to from each major studio and Disney+.

Pixar
The movie I am most looking forward to from Pixar Studios is Ghost Market. This movie will come out on March 10, 2028. It follows a young boy named Kyle who accidentally turns himself into a half-ghost after eating a mixed plate for the dead at a hidden market in Hawaii. I think this is such an original idea from Pixar, and I think it has major potential to give us new characters to love.

20th Century Studios
The movie I am most excited about is the sequel to my beloved Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion. We have been waiting to see Lisa Kudrow and Mira Sorvino back together again is just thrilling, and I am so happy this is in the works.
Walt Disney Pictures
The live-action movie that I am really looking forward to after seeing the small amount of footage at the showcase is Tangled, just so I can see the magnificent Kathryn Hahn as Mother Gothel. It definitely won me over.
Disney+
I definitely have a tie on what I am excited about. Those two titles are Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 3 and Oswald, a three-part miniseries. The trailer for Oswald specifically had me in tears, and anything that is filmed on the studio lot and at Disneyland has me locked in. As for Percy Jackson, I have been enamored with this show from the beginning, so the fact that Ming-Na Wen and Andra Day are joining the cast as Hera and Athena is just so awesome.
Marvel
Of course, everyone is anticipating Doomsday, but I am so looking forward to the culmination of the WandaVision saga with VisionQuest. This reunites Paul Bettany with James Spader as he reprises his role as Ultron. This comes to Disney+ on October 14, 2026.

Star Wars
Although I am so hyped for Starfighter, the project I am looking forward to the most is Ahsoka Season 2 and finishing the adventures of the rebel crew against Thrawn. The trailer looks amazing, and I can’t wait to see Hayden Christensen and Rosario Dawson back in the world of Star Wars.

Walt Disney Animated Films
The movie I am absolutely thrilled about is Disney’s Hexed. I love anything about the realm of magic, so this movie is right up my alley, and with the addition of Walton Goggins and Jodie Foster, this movie is sure to shine this Thanksgiving.

Broadway
An honorable mention goes to The Greatest Showman live stage show because it is only opening in the West End in Europe. Hopefully, it will tour North America because it looks so good, and I’m sad I won’t be able to see it in person for a while.

After a long first day at the convention, this showcase was such a fun way to finish the night off, and I can’t wait to see these projects come to life in every medium they are made for.
