Ian Kenny is heading from the streets of Dublin to the seedier corners of a galaxy far, far away.

The Irish actor, known for playing a schoolyard bully in Sing Street, has joined the cast of Lucasfilm’s untitled movie about a young Han Solo, EW has confirmed.

Details about Kenny’s role have yet to emerge, but he boards an ensemble led by Alden Ehrenreich ( Hail Caesar, Rules Don’t Apply) as the roguish space smuggler originated by Harrison Ford in 1977’s Star Wars. Also starring in the Solo film are Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian, Woody Harrelson as an as-yet-unnamed mentor, and Emilia Clarke as another undisclosed character.

Chris Miller and Phil Lord ( The Lego Movie, 21 Jump Street) are directing the movie, which is currently slated to arrive May 25, 2018.

Disney CEO Bob Iger revealed earlier this week that film will chronicle Han’s misadventures from ages 18 to 24, revealing how he acquired the Millennium Falcon, how he befriended Chewbacca, and how he got his name.

Variety first reported Kenny’s casting.
