The film, which also stars Donald Glover is older Simba, JD McCrary as younger Simba, Chiwetel Ejiofor as the villainous Scar, Billy Eichner and Seth Rogen as Timon and Pumbaa (respectively), John Oliver as Zazu and James Earl Jones reprising his role as Mufasa, is directed by Jon Favreau and hits theaters on July 19th, 2019. The Lion King, which may also possibly star Beyoncé as the voice of Nala (she was approached for the role, but her involvement has yet to be confirmed), is written Jeff Nathanson.
