A new report from THR has information regarding a potential Obi-Wan Kenobi Spinoff from Oscar-Nominated director Stephen Daldry.
According to the sources at THR, talks regarding the film are at their “earliest stages” as well as that their is currently no script for the project either. It is also written in the report that Daldry would oversee the development of the film as well as the writing process over at Lucasfilm. Another important detail is that it is currently unknown if Ewan McGregor will reprise his role as Obi-Wan in the film as well.
Most of Obi-Wan’s story after the prequel trilogy is largely unknown besides what has been told in A New Hope as well as the one-shot stories told in the latest line of Marvel Star Wars comics. It will be interesting to see what direction a possible Obi-Wan Kenobi film could take in the future, especially with a Director like Stephen Daldry at the helm, who has worked on projects like Billy Elliot and The Reader.
