Colin Trevorrow the man behind Jurassic World who was set to direct Star Wars Episode IX, has step down from the project. In a statement from the producers, on starwars.com, it announces Trevorrow and Lucasfilm have mutually chosen to part ways.

“Lucasfilm and Colin Trevorow have mutually chosen to part ways on Star Wars: Episode IX. Colin has been a wonderful collaborator throughout the development process but we have all come to the conclusion that our visions for the project differ. We wish Colin the best and will be sharing more information about the film soon.”

Trevorrow and his writing partner David Connolly wrote a majority of episode IX script but was undergoing rewrites since the tragic passing of Carrie Fisher. Since the rewrites, Jack Thorne has reportedly been working on the script.
