Full Cast For Disney’s LION KING Remake Revealed; Composer Han Zimmer To Score!

Disney has surprised social media by revealing the full cast for its upcoming remake of the Lion King.

Donald Glover stars as the voice of Simba with James Earl Jones who returns to voice Simba’s father Mufasa once again. Beyoncé has also been confirmed to star in the film as Simba’s love interest, Nala. In addition, the film will also feature Billy Eichner and Seth Rogen as the voices of Timon the meerkat and Pumbaa the warthog, respectively, with political commentator and comedian John Oliver set to voice the red-billed hornbill Zazu. Captain America: Civil War actor John Kani is set to voice Rafiki with Alfre Woodard as Simba’s mother, Sarabi. Chiwetel Ejiofor will voice Simba’s villainous Uncle, Scar.

Keegan Michael Key has joined the cast as Kamari along with Eric Andre as Azizi both of which are hyenas, Florence Kasumba as Shenzi, Shahadi Wright Joseph as young Nala, and JD McCrary as young Simba.

The studio is also bringing back the original composer of the animated classic Hans Zimmer to score.

Production is currently taking place in Los Angeles under the direction of The Jungle Book helmer Jon Favreau.

The Lion King will hit theaters on July 19, 2019.
