MALEFICENT 2 To Begin Production In April!

Back in 2014 Disney’s Maleficent rocked the worldwide box office making over $750 million, but was met with mixed reactions from critics and fans. Now Disney is finally moving forward with the sequel.

It is now being reported that Maleficent 2 is currently in pre-production, with filming set to begin on April 16 in London.

Angelina Jolie confirmed that she would be returning to the role back in October (Reportedly passing on the opportunity to play the Bride Of Frankenstein in Universals Dark Universe film from Beauty And The Beast director Bill Condon).

Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales director Joachim Rønning has officially signed on to direct (without directing partner Espen Sandberg who also directed Pirates 5 with Rønning).

Joe Roth (Maleficent) will produce the film, with screenwriter

No word yet on the release date for Maleficent 2 or if the rest of the original cast will return.
