It’s been a little over a year since Disney announced that they were developing a live-action adaptation of Sword In The Stone with Game Of Thrones screenwriter Bryan Cogman writing the script. Since then we have heard nothing on the project, well now the film has found a director.
According to The Hollywood Reporter Juan Carlos Fresnadillo (28 Weeks Later) will direct the remagining of the 1963 Walt Disney animated film.
The tone is expected to be a dark fantasy, think the Pirates Of The Caribbean films.
Two weeks ago it was reported the Ridley Scott would also helm a Merlin film. From what I have heard these films are not expected to crossover and will remain separate (unless any last minute changes from Disney).
Sword In The Stone has no scheduled release date as of yet.
