Production is expected to begin on Disney’s Jungle Cruise in the next couple months with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Emily Blunt set to star. However details regarding the film have been kept under wraps… until now.
Our friends over at ThatHashtagShow have acquired exclusive details on the film.
The plot will be centered around the search for the mystical Tree of Life which is said to have curative powers. (No word yet if this will be connected to the Tree of Life that can be found in Disney’s Animal Kingdom in Orlando, Florida.)
Also we have learned who Johnson and Blunt will playing.

Spunky scientist in search of the Tree of Life. Her quest is inspired in part by the death of her brother which was caused by an infectious disease.
It sounds like Disney will expand the story of the classic Disneyland attraction.
Jaume Collet-Serra (The Shallows, The Commuter) is set to direct the film, with Flavio Labiano (Non-Stop) as cinematographer, The Jungle Book VFX supervisor will also oversee VFX on Jungle Cruise.
There is no official release date for Jungle Cruise as of yet.
