Disney studios live-action adaptation of Peter Pan has been development for a few years, with 2016’s Pete’s Dragon helmer attached to direct the film. But we haven’t heard much on the film over the past year, until now.
Peter Pan producer Jim Whitaker sat down with Comicbook.com during A Wrinkle In Time’s press tour to give an update on the film that was originally expected to hit theaters this year.
“Still working on the script, honestly,” Whitaker said. “But you know David Lowery’s work. He worked on Peter Pan and I would say some of the tenets of his great work is a kind of grounded emotionality. And I think that’s at least one part of what you can expect. But it’ll be a big, rollicking adventure, too.”
Not a lot of movement on the film but it’s good to hear that the film is still in Disney’s plans.
It should be noted that it’s uncertain if Peter Pan will release theatrically or debut on the streaming service like Sword In The Stone (Also in active development).
