Production has begun on Disney’s Maleficent sequel and with Angelina Jolie and Elle Fanning we now know that Brenton Thwaites who played Prince Phillip in the original film will not be returning due to scheduling conflicts with his DC series Titans. According to Variety, Harris Dickinson, who portrays J. Paul Getty III in FX’s limited series Trust, is set to play the prince and love interest of Elle Fanning in the sequel.
The film will see the return of Angelina Jolie as the title character of Maleficent, As well as Elle Fanning as Aurora. Deadpool actor Ed Skrein recently signed on to play the villain of the film, with Michelle Pfeiffer in negotiations to play the queen
Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales director Joachim Rønning has officially signed on to direct (without directing partner Espen Sandberg who also directed Pirates 5 with Rønning). Joe Roth (Maleficent) will produce the film, with screenwriter
