EXCLUSIVE: Disney’s Streaming Service Series HIGH FIDELITY Begins Production This Fall

Production is set to begin on Disney’s romantic comedy series High Fidelity. Based on the 1995 novel by Nick Hornby and 2000 film starring John Cusack and Jack Black. The series will be featured on the upcoming Disney streaming service.

We have learned, Mad Max and Divergent actress Zoë Kravitz has been offered a lead role. Kravitz is an interesting choice since her mother Lisa Bonet starred in the original film.

Written by Veronica West and Sarah Kucserka (Ugly Betty, State of Affairs). The series will feature a female lead who will take on the character Cusack played, a record store owner who analyzes the memories of past relationships.

High Fidelity co-writer Scott Rosenberg will produce the series along with Midnight Radio, including Jeff Pinkner, Josh Appelbaum, Adrienne Erickson, and Andre Nemec. We have also learned that Production is expected to begin mid September.

High Fidelity will be one of many developments coming to the Disney streaming service. Some of the projects include the live-action Star Wars and Marvel series, live-action remakes of Lady and the Tramp, and Sword In The Stone, along with Noelle starring Anna Kendrick, and Magic Camp starring Adam Devine.
