Set Photos Offer First Look At Lady In The LADY AND THE TRAMP Remake

Production is underway on Disney’s streaming service feature Lady And The Tramp. The live-action/CGI hybrid film based on the 1955 animated classic is currently filming in Savannah, Georgia. Below we have some shots from the set featuring our first look at the star canine Lady.

The remake is set to star Tessa Thompson (Thor: Ragnarok) as Lady, Justin Theroux (The LEGO Ninjago Movie) as Tramp, Ashley Bensen (Ugly Betty) as Jackie (a gender swapped Jock), Sam Elliot (The Ranch) as Trusty, Benedict Wong (Doctor Strange) as Bull. With Kiersey Clemons (Dope) as Darling, Thomas Mann as Jim Dear, and Yvette Nicole Brown (Community) as Aunt Sarah.

The film will be directed by The LEGO Ninjago helmer Charlie Bean, and written by Andrew Bujalski (Beeswax). Diane Sabatini (Nocturnal Animals) and Brigham Taylor(Christopher Robin) are on board as producers. The film is expected to be ready for Disney’s streaming service coming in sometime in fall 2019.

This Disney animated classic followed a pampered cocker spaniel named Lady whose comfortable life slips away once her owners have a baby. When, after some tense circumstances, Lady finds herself on the loose and out on the street. She is befriended and protected by the tough stray mutt Tramp. A romance begins to blossom between the two dogs, but their many differences, along with more drama at Lady’s household, threaten to keep them apart.

Lady And The Tramp isn’t the only remake expected to debut on Disney’s streaming service. The studio is also expected to have their live-action remake of Sword In The Stone debut on the service as well. Other films Disney is planning for the service are Noelle starring Anna Kendrick and Bill Hader, Magic Camp starring Adam Devine, as well as StargirlTimmy Failure3 Men And A Baby, and Flora and Ulysses.
