‘The Dark Knight’ Composer Set To Score ‘Jungle Cruise’

Disney’s Jungle Cruise film is currently in post-production. With that comes behind the scenes additions to the film, including a composer. According to Film Music Reporter, James Newton Howard has signed on to score the film. Howard recently worked with the Disney Company on 2018’s The Nutcracker and the Four Realms. The plot will be centered around the search for the mystical Tree of Life which is said to have curative powers. (No word yet if this will be connected to the Tree of Life that can be found in Disney’s Animal Kingdom in Orlando, Florida.) Dwayne Johnson is playing Frank, A witty riverboat captain cursed with immortality who takes Lily Houghton down the river. Blunt will play Lily Houghton, Spunky scientist in search of the Tree of Life. Her quest is inspired in part by the death of her brother which was caused by an infectious disease. Jack Whitehall will play Blunt’s brother. With Edgar Ramirez and Jesse Plemons joining as villains, and Paul Giamatti as crusty harbormaster. With an appearance by Trader Sam. Jaume Collet-Serra (The Shallows, The Commuter) is set to direct the film, with Flavio Labiano (Non-Stop) as cinematographer, The Jungle Book VFX supervisor will also oversee VFX on Jungle Cruise.
