This week, we had a short viewing, due to the fact that there was no feature film. Instead, we watched two Toy Story Toons: Small Fry and Partysaurus Rex. These shorts came out around the time of Toy Story 3 and feature our favorite toys as they are now living with Bonnie.
Small Fry is a hilarious look at the difference between a regular toy and the small, cheap toys that come with a kids fast food meal. We get to see almost all of the characters in this short as well as some new ones, such as Queen Neptuna who is voiced by Jane Lynch.
Partysaurus Rex focuses on Bonnie’s bath time toys and Rex as he has a party with his new friends. These new toys are entertaining and the great choice of music and creative story make for a fun-filled short.
Both of these shorts do a commendable job extending and furthering the Toy Story universe and are definitely welcome additions to the world of the franchise.
Next week, we’ll be watching the short La Luna, film Brave, and short The Legend of Mor’du.
