We finally made it: the conclusion of the 25 Weeks of Pixar and the opening weekend of Toy Story 4. This is our only title to watch this week because Toy Story 4 was not sent to theaters with a short film, the first time this has happened since the original Toy Story hit theaters.

This week, we watched Bao, Incredibles 2, and the short film Auntie Edna. Bao might just be my favorite Pixar short of all time. It is a beautiful story about parenting and how the relationship between parents and children changes as kids grow up. It is told through the lens of Chinese culture and homemade

This week, we watched the 2017 film Coco and the short Dante’s Lunch- A Short Tail. Coco was a breath of fresh air when it was released in 2017 because it was an original Pixar film amid several sequels. Releasing between Cars 3 and Incredibles 2, this was a film that many, including myself, greatly

This week, we watched the short Lou, Cars 3, and the mini-movie Miss Fritter’s Racing Skoool. This week’s short is a film called Lou, which has a playground bully as the main character. We watch him as he steals and plays with the other kids’ toys. This makes Lou, a creature made of lost and found

This week, we watched Piper, Finding Dory, and Marine Life Interviews. Piper is an adorable short that was shown before Finding Dory in theaters. It takes a look at the life of birds who live near the ocean. This short is not only gorgeous to look at, featuring some of the best animation I have

This week, we watched the short film Sanjay’s Super Team and the film The Good Dinosaur. Sanjay’s Super Team is a very personal story directed by American Indian animator Sanjay Patel. This short is based on the relationship between himself and his father, regarding their Islamic faith. During prayer, Sanjay is distracted by his favorite

This week’s viewing may have been my favorite so far. We watched the short Lava, the film Inside Out, and the short Riley’s First Date. Lava, the short that accompanied Inside Out, is one of the best Pixar shorts to date. The whole story is told in song and is inspired by the music of

This week, we watched the second and final season of the Cars Toons, this one titled Tales from Radiator Springs. This consisted of four episodes which I will discuss briefly below. Hiccups– In this episode, we learn that hiccups are not only contagious but also apparently can be cured with a single kiss. Bugged– This episode

This week, we watched the two Toy Story specials that were released after Toy Story 3: Toy Story of Terror and Toy Story That Time Forgot. Both of these specials were released on ABC on 2013 and 2014, respectively. They follow the adventures of the toys after the transition of ownership from Andy to Bonnie.

The Blue Umbrella is a wonderful, yet simple, short about two umbrellas who fall in love, get separated and then are reunited. Featuring personified objects of a rainy city, there is so much character and charm to this short and it is quickly becoming one of my favorites of all the Pixar shorts. Monsters University,

This week, we watched the short La Luna, feature film Brave, and show The Legend of Mor’du.  La Luna is one of my favorite Pixar shorts. The story follows three generations of men who move stars across the surface of the moon to change the phases of the moon. Though they have different methods of

This week, we had a short viewing, due to the fact that there was no feature film. Instead, we watched two Toy Story Toons: Small Fry and Partysaurus Rex. These shorts came out around the time of Toy Story 3 and feature our favorite toys as they are now living with Bonnie. Small Fry is

This week, we watched Day & Night, Toy Story 3, and the Toy Story Toon Hawaiian Vacation. Kicking off this week was Day & Night, which is one of my favorite shorts yet. Featuring a blend of traditional animation with Pixar’s usual computer animation, we get a wonderful story of two different entities (day and

This week, we watched the short Partly Cloudy, feature film Up, and shorts Dug’s Special Mission and George & A.J. Partly Cloudy, the theatrical short released with Up, is a heartwarming story about clouds that make the children of the world, both animals and humans, who are then delivered by storks. Though most of the

This week, we watched the short Presto, WALL-E, and the short BURN-E. Presto is a short about the relationship between a magician and his rabbit. When the rabbit doesn’t get the carrot he is hungry for, he goes on strike until he can eat. This short is hilarious, and an honest take about the reliance we have on

This week, we watched the short Lifted, the feature Ratatouille, and the short Your Friend the Rat. We started with Lifted, which was the theatrical short film that played before Ratatouille. This week, we watched One Man Band, Cars, and Mater and the Ghostlight. One Man Band is a short about competition in the music industry. Well, kind of. Really what it is about is how the love of money can overtake all reasoning and force you to do whatever it takes to get said money.

This week, we watched the short Boundin’, feature film The Incredibles, and the home video shorts Jack-Jack Attack and Mr. Incredible and Pals.  Boundin’, the short that accompanied The Incredibles in theaters, is one of the most mediocre Pixar shorts I have seen. Granted, I have not watched all of them, but I found this one fairly disappointing.

This week, we watched Pixar’s fifth feature film, Finding Nemo, along with Exploring the Reef, which is found on the home video release. This week, we watched the short For the Birds, the film Monsters, Inc. and the home video short Mike’s New Car. For the Birds is a short about cliques and what happens when an outsider tries to enter the group. Of course, rather than humans, the characters are birds. It is a solid short which,

This week, we looked at Pixar’s first sequel, Toy Story 2, as well as cartoon spinoff, Buzz Lightyear of Star Command: The Adventure Begins. This week, we looked at the first Pixar feature ever made, as well as the commercials that aired on TV to win over audiences to see this new film. Toy Story was, and always will be, one of the most ambitious films ever made. Sure, Pixar had proved themselves capable with the 5 short films
