Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge, What Can We Expect?

When Disney announced back on April of 2015 that they would be building not one, but two lands devoted to the popular Star Wars brand, there were mixed reactions. What would it be called? What will be in it? And will there be blue milk? Now we know all these answers and so much more. Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge will open next week on May 31st in Disneyland in Anaheim and in Disney’s Hollywood Studios on  August 29th.

The lands are based on a remote planet called Batuu. According to Starwars.com, Batuu is a remote outpost on the galaxy’s edge. It is a port for smugglers, rogue traders, and adventurers. It has also become a place for those looking to avoid the attention of the First Order. Batuu will have so much to offer for every Star Wars fan from young to old. Here is a quick version of what we can expect from Galaxy’s Edge.

Both lands in California and Florida will be virtual copies of each other. They will both be roughly 14 acres in size and will be anchored by the same two E-ticket attractions. The first will be Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run. This an interactive attraction where you get to take controls of the fastest ship in the galaxy according to Han Solo himself. Smugglers Run will open when the land opens on May 31st in Disneyland. The second attraction will be  Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. This attraction will open at a later date yet to be determined by Disney and will feature a climactic battle against the First Order.

You will be able to completely immerse yourself into the world of Star Wars with land exclusive food, shopping, and drinks. It will have one of a kind shops and will also be the only place in Disneyland that alcohol will be served to the public. When the land opens next week in Disneyland it will the biggest expansion of the park since the addition of New Orleans Square by Walt Disney himself in 1966.
