Russell Brand In Talks Join Disney/Fox ‘Death on the Nile’
Russell Brand is in talks to join Kenneth Branagh’s Death on the Nile, the sequel to 2017’s Murder on the Orient Express, according to Collider.
Details on Brand’s character are reportedly being kept under wraps.
Russell Brand joins a cast that includes Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman), Armie Hammer (The Lone Ranger), Jodi Comer (Killing Eve), Letitia Wright (Black Panther), Annette Benning (Captain Marvel) and Branagh reprising his role as the mustachioed Belgian detective Hercule Poirot. The film is due to start filming towards the end of September.
Death On The Nile was published in 1937. In the story, Poirot was on vacation in Egypt and ends up investigating a murder that resulted from a love triangle. The story was filmed for the big screen in 1978 and starred Bette Davis, Mia Farrow, Maggie Smith, Angela Lansbury and David Niven.
Death On The Nile is expected to sail into theaters on October 9, 2020.
