Disney+ will not be moving forward with the previously announced Muppets series, Muppets Live Another Day.
The scripted comedy series was set to be written and produced by Frozen star Josh Gad and Once Upon a Time creators Adam Horowitz and Eddy Kitsis. Sadly, there was discrepancy between the writing team’s creative vision and that of the top brass at Disney-owned Muppet Studio.
Josh Gad took to social media to confirm the news and hopes to work with the Muppets in the future.

This series was to be set in the 1980’s and would have taken place immediately following the events of The Muppets Take Manhattan movie.
Don’t worry Muppets fans, the iconic characters will still appear on the streaming service in the unscripted short-form unscripted series which will be called Muppets Now. The shorts feature three different segments of a game show, a cooking show, and a talk show.
