Marvel’s ‘New Warriors’ Reportedly Dead As Series Can’t Find A New Home

It sounds like Marvel’s New Warriors is officially dead after failing to find a new home after being dropped by Freeform.

According to Geeks WorldWide, the series was dropped despite network executives loving the series pilot. Marvel Television tried shopping the series to Disney+ and Hulu, but both passed.

This news is pretty disappointing, and it’s sad Hulu won’t take a crack at New Warriors, with all the success they are having with Runaways and Cloak & Dagger — both series will even crossover next season. New Warriors could’ve been an excellent addition to their universe.

The half-hour comedy from Enlisted creator Kevin Biegel stars This Is Us alum Milana Vayntrub as Squirrel Girl, along with Calum Worthy as Robbie Baldwin (Speedball), Derek Theler as Craig Hollis (Mister Immortal), Dear White People star Jeremy Tardy as Dwayne Taylor (Night Thrasher), Kate Comer as Deborah Fields (Debrii) and 2 Broke Girls alum Matthew Moy as Zack Smith (Microbe).

The New Warriors is a fictional superhero team appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. They traditionally consisted of teenage and young adult heroes, and were often seen to serve as a junior counterpart to The Avengers in much the same way that the New Mutants/X-Force did with the X-Men.
