Disney has unveiled a brand-new trailer for Descendants: Wicked Wonderland, offering fans their latest look at the next chapter in the wildly popular Descendants franchise. Along with the new footage, Disney also revealed that actress and comedian Awkwafina has joined the cast, lending her voice to a brand-new Wonderland character named Cheesy.
The upcoming film serves as a direct sequel to 2024’s Descendants: The Rise of Red, once again following Red (Kylie Cantrall) and Chloe Charming (Malia Baker) as they deal with the consequences of altering time. This new adventure takes the pair deeper into Wonderland, where unexpected dangers and new villains threaten the fragile balance of their world.
Returning cast members include Kylie Cantrall, Malia Baker, Rita Ora as the Queen of Hearts, Brandy as Cinderella, Paolo Montalban as King Charming, and Melanie Paxson as the Fairy Godmother. The film will also introduce several new descendants from beloved Disney characters, expanding the ever-growing mythology of the franchise.
Disney previously described the film as an exploration of what “happily ever after” truly means following the events of The Rise of Red. Set primarily in present-day Wonderland, the story will examine the ripple effects of time travel and the challenges that come with changing history.
The latest trailer teases colorful new settings, musical performances, and plenty of Wonderland-inspired chaos as Red and Chloe race to stop a new threat before it reshapes their future. Fans of the franchise can also expect plenty of familiar faces alongside a host of new characters making their debut.
Descendants: Wicked Wonderland is scheduled to premiere on Disney Channel on July 16, 2026, before arriving on Disney+ the following day.
