Wes Anderson is releasing his 10th film, The French Dispatch, with Fox Searchlight in 2020. Anderson is famous for directing and writing iconic films such as Moonrise Kingdom and The Royal Tenenbaums.
Anderson described the film as “a love letter to journalists”. Big-name stars Timothée Chamalet, Saoirse Ronan, Elisabeth Moss, Léa Seydoux, Tilda Swinton, Kate Winslet, Christoph Waltz, Bill Murray are already announced to be apart of it and Anderson, Steven Rales and Jeremy Dawson are producing.
The production company, Indian Paintbrush, agreed to co-finance the film with Fox. While Anderson has had a long relationship with the studio, this will be his first release after the Disney/Fox acquisition. It’ll be interesting to see if some of his iconic titles under Fox, like The Grand Budapest Hotel, will end up on Disney+.
