Jodie Comer hot off her Emmy win for her work in Killing Eve, is in talks to join Matt Damon and Ben Affleck in the Disney/Fox film The Last Duel.
According to Variety, the film is set in 14th Century France, and tells the story of a man who goes off to war, and when he returns he learns that his friend had did bad things to his wife. No one will believe the woman, and the soldier appeals to the king of France and says he wants to fight a duel to the death to decide the man’s fate, becoming the last legally sanctioned duel in France.
The trade reports Comer will play the wife. It is unclear at this time what roles Damon and Affleck will play.

Ridley Scott (The Martian) is on board to direct, with Production on the film will begin in early 2020. Nicole Holofcener (Can You Ever Forgive Me?) is co-writing the script with Damon and Affleck. The duo will also produce along with Scott and his filmmaking partner Kevin Walsh. Drew Vinton is also producing for Pearl Street Films, and Madison Ainsley will executive produce.
Jodie Comer will also appear in the Disney/Fox comedy Free Guy alongside Ryan Reynolds and Taika Waititi.
